Installation Guide for New Song Update Files

Applicable Models: Piano 1.6, Piano XL SD, PK-10

Step 1 – Install the New Song Update Firmware

To enable support for the new song update file format, the unit must first be updated with the corresponding Song Update Firmware.

1.      Determine the Correct Firmware File

1.      Power on the unit.

2.      Press the 0 button repeatedly on the remote control until the Diagnostic Mode screen appears.

3.      Locate the Filename field displayed on the screen.

Example:

Filename : PIANO16.rom

4.      Reboot the unit to return to Karaoke Mode.

2.      Prepare the Firmware File

1.      Download the firmware package corresponding to your unit.

2.      Rename the downloaded firmware file to match the filename shown in Diagnostic Mode.

Example:

o    Diagnostic filename: PIANO16.rom

o      Downloaded file: PIANO1.6U (with U version to enable the New Song Update method)

o    Rename PIANO16U.rom to PIANO16.rom

3.      Format a USB flash drive to FAT32.

4.      Copy the renamed ROM file to the root directory of the USB flash drive.

3. Install the Firmware

1.      Power on the unit.

2.      Insert the USB flash drive into the unit.

3.      Press INPUT on the remote control.

4.      Select USB/Flash Drive, then select O to begin programming.

5.      Wait until the firmware update process is completed.

6.      Reboot the unit.

 

Step 2 – Install the Song Update File

After successfully updating the firmware, the unit is ready to accept the new song update package.

Installation Procedure

1.      Download the Song Update package.

2.      Extract the downloaded archive.

3.      Copy the file KMDAT00.777 to a FAT32-formatted USB flash drive.

4.      Insert the USB flash drive into the unit.

5.      Press INPUT on the remote control.

6.      Select Karaoke mode.

7.      Wait for the song update process to complete.

8.      Once finished, the installation is complete.

Note: Do not power off the unit or remove the USB flash drive during the firmware update or song update process, as this may cause system corruption.
